Hello everyone,
Over the weekend I finished my first house based on an actual structure. I was invited to a friends 60th birthday party. My friend recently lost her Mom and was in the process of cleaning out the family home. The home had fallen into disrepair and will most likely be demolished such is the fate of most old structures here in Houston, TX. Anyway, I decided I would build her a putz replica of her childhood home. I went over and took some pictures and went to work on it. I was still working on getting it finished the morning of the party. My friend loved the house and was pleased she would have this memento of her childhood home.
I apologize the pictures are blurry. I was in a hurry and didn't really check them before wrapping up the house to get to the party on time. You can still get an idea of what it looked like. The little house is about 3" tall and 4.5" wide not counting the base. I was rushing so didn't detail the windows and doors like I usually would...
Have a great week everyone and if you have a chance thank a veteran for their service!
Lee

Re: A Birthday Gift
Even w/o the window detail. A great job.
The chimney looks as it was an engineering feat.
I always find it hard working off of pictures. I'm a work from plans kinda guy.
Guess that's why I'm an engineer.
Looks like an interesting shaped house.

Re: A Birthday Gift
I agree, VERY NICE, looks just like the house! The roof with the chimney is really cool!
