So I took the plunge and bought on of Pete's excellent kits.
Took me longer than I thought.
But I like it.
There's a few things I'd do different.
My red bleed thru my snow a bit.
Still cool house to add to my collection.

Re: Newest House
Steve - you did an amazing job! Looks vintage to me - Terriffic! How did you create the yellowish surface? Looks like sand?

Yes. Fine floral sand tinted w/ some Folkart paint.
Re: Newest House
This is really beautiful. I love the sand mixed with paint. It's got a great texture. And the loofah trees are really well done too.
Re: Newest House
It looks really authentic! So many nice details.

Steve...
Now I know why you haven't been posting much lately!...you've been very busy!...and what a beauty you have to show for it!...
About "red bleeding into other colors"...you are not alone...practically every house I have that has red shows some "bleeding"...
My very best regards...

Re: Newest House
Steve, what a beautiful reproduction. Your work is truly an inspection!!
Can you tell me did you add the paint to the sand or paint the sand after it was applied? I have done it both ways but would love to know your method. Thanks

Re: Newest House
I added the paint to the sand before applying.
And let it dry overnight.
I also painted the house a base coat of the same color before gluing on the sand.
Oh, I had some small grind mica added to the sand too to give it some sparkle.
