A rendition of a City Hall...

Here's my recent build. I've been feeling "patriotic" as of late since July 4th is close by. I've been really having fun working with my home-brewed coconut. It's probably the most difficult build up to now for me, but-- I love it! It's a smaller version of the original that sold on eBaY for over $400. I have also finally used "Steve's method" for putting together my windows along with my newly purchased pin stripping. I still need to make the trees for my project which I will hopefully finish up this weekend. It looks real "fuzzy".. lol.. I think I need to grind up my coco a little more. Any suggestions on improvements anyone? I have though of placing a flag on the top, what do you all think? Have a great Saturday all!...

How did you cut the fences. Hand cut?

Yes Steve, all hand cut and tedious! Lol. Sending out your coco either today or Monday sir. Being a stay-at-home Dad is busy work!

But, I still find a few minutes to "putz around" (late night of course!)

It's beautiful, Will. Hand cut fences. I really admire that. I love the patriotic colors as well. A flag would be a nice touch, I think. It lights up very nicely. Great putzing.

Yes, I think it needs a flag. I took the liberty (I hope you don't mind). It could work really nicely with bunting around the uppermost section (above the clock, below the roof) but I couldn't find a suitable cut and paste bunting. Great replica!

Well my good friends, here's the FINAL'E on this project. I added the flag (thanks DCrowe for the graphic, that was awesome!) Also, added in 2 tall berry topped trees with trunks. I bent the flag a bit as to give it a "waving" look as well. I have found some graphics for some bunting DCrowe, and after these pics, I will post what I found below. Please let me know folks which bunting would be fitting for it. Thanks all for the kind comments. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Here are the "buntings" I collected here. I thought the vintage one (square blue field with 13 colony stars) would look nice in the middle, then something draping thereafter around the building. What do you all think? Comments appreciated!

P.S.: I thought if I added this feature, that I would just print it off, antique stain it a bit and glue it on. Any suggestions on this method?

Hi Will, tough choice they are all nice, I guess it would depend were the will be going so not to much of the windows are covered.

When I antique my windows for the Dolly house I quickly died the windows in a cup of tea just till they obsorbed the tea and laided them on the counter. As soon as the edges started to curl, this is when the slow process of drying to place. Then I placed a pile of books on top. The botton book was old and had a jacket so it was a smooth surface. I would wait about 30 minutes and take the books off flip the windows and start all over. This would take many hours but I got the look I wanted and a flat window. I bet there is a quicker way someone can share.
