howard's BIG CHURCH project...
Re: howard's BIG CHURCH project...
What a grand creation, Howard. "Big Church" reminds me of when I was a kid. My Mom would always make sure my brother and I got to Sunday School since she taught in the second grade Sunday School class. If we stayed for the traditional 11AM worship service in the sanctuary, we would call it "going to Big Church." We usually did. It has been many years since I thought of that little bit of the past. Thank you.
Re: howard's BIG CHURCH project...
Greetings to all…
My “Big Church” project is finished…some may have been expecting to see it done in white or antique white…but I just couldn’t do another one that way…so I went with rose pink and charcoal…these two colors go well with the emperor’s gold window mullions and the multi-color stained glass windows…I know the trees look almost black…but they are actually a very dark green with a touch of deep blue…the figurines are from some retail store’s Christmas village collection…
I stuck with my tried-and-true finish materials…flat white wall primer and paint…craft paint…clear glitter with a touch of mica flakes…extra fine clear glitter on the window sills…Snow-Tex on the roof peaks and tree tops…the bell was spray painted silver…
Now…I’m off in search of another house project…and as always…a new flattie or two…guess it’s time to visit Antoinette’s site for some inspiration… http://www.antoinettestockenberg.com/xmas.htm
My very best regards…
Howard…
