Hurray for Dollywood

Post by PutzinVT »

Got my first dolly done.

Used the tall base pattern.

Used mica and my homemade snow glitter to coat it.

Looks better in person. The camera makes the the glitter look muddy.

Awesome job Steve! I really like the snow myself. I gotta try your method and add it onto one of my projects. Great base as well. Bravo! ;)

Very nice house. Isn't is frustrating what a camera can do sometimes. It does show a nice shine on your house though.

steve...

looking good!...i like how each maker has their own style...and at the heart of it all is what's really important...having fun and being creative...

i know exactly what you said about "muddy"...had it happen to me...a house looks much better in person than in a photo...for some reason the camera and mica flakes really don't play well together...

(i'm actually going back to craft store "glitter" with just a small amount of mica flakes in the mix)...

now, from my count...looks like you have at least a half-dozen or more "dolly houses" to make!... ...perhaps the dolly style santa, sleigh and deer, too...

my very best regards...howard...

Steve,

Great house. I agree with Howard the Dollywood series is showing how creative everyone can be with the same pattern. It's been really fun watching everyone's takes on these houses.
