Good afternoon everyone. Answers to your questions Lucy & Laurie: The windows were drawn on glossy white stock. It holds the "color" better. When I used the plain ol' white, it looked too grainy when shining light through them. I will be posting a digital format of these churches and their windows/doors when I get some time. Let's share and enjoy! Thanks again for all the comments folks. Have a wonderful Sunday all! :)

Here's another I built this morning as well. It's what I call the "mini" church. It didn't have a spire either, so I just had to wing it! I have yet another one that's small like this also with an added "belfry" that I will build tonight. After that, I have just one more dolly church left to build and it's the BIGGEST one yet! After that, I guess I'm outta dolly churches... LOL..

Here's yet another one for your viewing pleasure folks! I actually found this design of what I think is one of the older dolly churches. I did tweak it a bit though. I set the steeple on the left side instead of it's original position on the right, and I put in a belfry with a bell. The bell didn't shine up well as I wanted it to, so I guess back to the drawing board for that little problem. Got any ideas anyone? I did put a light hole on the inside, but it just didn't do it justice. Also, it had a cross up top. I got to find one for it. Oh well, next church comin' right up! Matter of fact, I found a few more online I'm gonna take a crack at building. Hope you all enjoy it. Thanks for everyone's input. Have a wonderful day all!... :)

Will,
Sometimes I put metallic tape on the roof to reflect light. How big is the hole on the right side to let light in? You could line the entire extension with metallic tape to see if that helps. Or put a hole in the back of the tower extension for another light to go there. Now that we have small LED lights the hole doesn't have to be very big.

I must say your insomnia is inspiring your creativity. I love these Dollies.

Thanks Lucy for your advice on the lighting. I'm gonna give that tape idea a try! I also thought of putting foil in there as well. The project is still drying so I'll give it a shot in a while. Yes, the early morning putz time is beginning to become a habit! lol... Here's a pic of all of them so far.

Hi Steve,

From the ruler hitting the cardboard, till the last spritz of glass glitter, it's just a tad under 3 hours to construct one of these. Actually, I think I'm being slow! Right now, I am graphing them all out by red color pencil in my designs notebook. I break alot of X-acto blades too my friend! ;) It's been fun so far. Because the wife & kids are asleep when I work (play rather!), I can get things done. To me, "putzing time" is a rare and precious commodity. I hope to knock out the Dolly Toy Co. village pieces over the next few weeks, IF time allows...

Cheers,

Will~
