Making an automobile "flattie" for Mr. Frog...

What kind of figures have been used with cardboard Christmas houses and villages, where do you get appropriate figures today, how do you make, prepair, repair or otherwise maintain figures?

Making an automobile "flattie" for Mr. Frog...

Post by Howard »

Greetings to all...

Here's another "flattie" project...this time it's a sporty little "runabout" for Mr. Frog...the patterns for the cutout profile and a suggested painting scheme are shown below along with most of the layering detail pieces...

Not shown are the following items...steering column, wheel spokes, hand brake, windshield frame and wheel hubs...I'll make these later...the back will also be braced with pieces of paper clip wire...

Construction progress photos and more details will follow later...

My very best regards...Howard...

That is such a nice flattie. Great design. I am afraid, though, that I don't know what Mr. Frog refers to.

I look really look forward to seeing this one completed. Lucy

Mr. Frog is a close relative of Mr. Toad...however Mr. Frog is a much better driver and not as wild as Mr. Toad... :D

Well, I am glad Mr. Frog is a better driver because you wouldn't want to wreck such a nice flattie car.

I'm thinking this is a Wind in the Willows reference.
But is been awhile since I read it.

greetings to all...

making progress...the detail layering is completed...parts shown are the back braces, steering column, windshield frame, wheel parts and assembly guide for wheels plus a finished wheel...the straight pins are for the center of the wheels...not going to put in a handbrake...still have to glue all the parts together...prime and paint...note...the wheels won't be attached until all the painting is done...this will save a lot of tedious painting around the spokes...a final coat of clear gloss acrylic and fine glitter on the base will finish the project...perhaps this weekend...

my very best regards...howard...

Wow great job, great details and nice color choices. I especially like the scarf blowing in the wind.
