Nov. 2003 House of Month...Little Glitter House Version...
Re: Nov. 2003 House of Month...Little Glitter House Version.
good morning...
here's my version of a small "flattie" for the front porch...it's only similar to the original...not an exact copy...
just the usual cardboard cutout with some "layering details"...the bamboo skewer glued on the back will act as a painting handle and mounting stick...
note that the front left corner of the porch was cut away slightly to allow for the space taken up by the porch post...
my very best regards...howard...

Hi Howard, this house has a particularly nice design and it's great to see your plans to show how this all goes together!
Re: Nov. 2003 House of Month...Little Glitter House Version.
I am so glad you showed those details on the porch. I am making my first house with a porch. The railings are really nice and it's good to know about the matchstick braces. The little girl flattie is a very nice touch as well.
Thank you for sharing all the details. Lucy

good morning to all...
thought by now i would have more to show of this project...a few creative stumbling blocks slowed me down...but i do have a pix of the unfinished tree and sections of the raffia fence...see below...i've also decided not to use the "little girl" flattie...not worth going into the reason right now...

Re: Nov. 2003 House of Month...Little Glitter House Version.
Looking good Howard!! The tree on this one is really neat with the partially exposed branch at the base of the luffah. Cant wait to see it done!!
Re: Nov. 2003 House of Month...Little Glitter House Version.
Greetings to all...
Finally finished...base measures 4" x 6" x 3/4" thick...overall height, including base, is just under 5"...
What happened to the "little girl" flattie?...the cutout was too large, it dominated the porch and looked like "Darth Vadar" from Star Wars...so I'm starting over by looking at Christmas coloring pages for inspiration...
I think the tree may be a bit too large as well...the left side of the finished piece is visually heavy...perhaps I'll put the new flattie on the walk or in the yard on the right...
My very best regards...Howard...

Re: Nov. 2003 House of Month...Little Glitter House Version.
Howard I love the whole thing, the colors, the house, some day I an going to try a raffia fencs. A flatie that small and that tiny doll not sure if I could cut out some thing that small. I recently purchased a pair of cutter bee sissors. They are great little sisors for cutting very tiny shapes not sure how they would be on the cardboard but I will give it a try and let you know.
Re: Nov. 2003 House of Month...Little Glitter House Version.
Hi Howard, it tried out the sisors on a box that K-cups came in should be about the same thickness of a cereal box. It worked out very nicly. I have seen these online for under 7.00. I did buy mine at Jo-Ann Fabrics for just about that same amount.

Looks great, Howard. I especially like the fence!
