My loggies

Please use this forum for photos of your putz villages - some of you don't make your own houses, but you still display a lot of artistry when you combine and arrange them. And the rest of us would love to see your work. Again, it works best if you resize your photos to 800px wide or less before you upload them - Paul

My loggies

Post by Cindy »

The loggies shown here are one of my more recent purchases. I love these little houses. When I first started collecting, they were not my favorite, but I soon came to really admire them..

Cindy...

I believe most of your "loggie" collection is the work of Karl Fey...right?...

I studied pictures of everything that karl made that I could find...he's a real craftsman...

My very best regards...Howard...

Howard, I am not really familiar as yet with Karl's work I guess. I would like to see what he has done, though. :-)
I have some pictures of the bottom of these houses. All eight of them have a hole in the bottom or in the case of one of the blue ones, it has an opening all across the bottom. Where you would normally find "made in Japan" there is a hole in most of these. Here are a few pictures of the bottom. There a a few that have stamped "made in Japan". Tell me what you think....other than the bottoms, I thought they looked very well cared for, if they are the pre-war loggies.

Some of them do look like Karl's work. Here is a flickr gallery I created of log cabin putz houses; those that are Karl's will be marked as such

Oh my...yes I think I have seen these! These are awesome...they look a lot like mine...at first I thought they were the vintage log cardboard houses. Does he make these to sell to people?
