This house is currently on Ebay.
I have never seen this style before.
I like the chimney. MY grandparents had a similar scroll on theirs.
Any one have details on this one.
Ebay house
Re: Ebay house
I have seen these types before. They are somewhat uncommon. However this one is missing the box base and the seller is NOT acknowledging this.
Re: Ebay house
Good eyes Tom, I missed that...
Re: Ebay house
What is the santa/door molding made of on these?
Re: Ebay house
Does anyone have the link to this house? I would love to see it if the listing is still active.
Re: Ebay house
That door is SO cool! I saw this pop up, and saved all the pics. Im definitely going to try and sculpt that at some point. I wont be bidding but I hope someone on here gets it!!!!!!
Re: Ebay house
I believe the Santa Door is made of a type of low fire pottery like all of the coconuts and pre hacienda figures. The haciendas were the ONLY ones to originally have figures made of porcelain. If a coconut has a porcelain figure it was robbed from a hacienda. The pottery ones had a wire fired in them. On the porcelain ones the wire could NOT be fired in it as it was too hot and would melt it if anything were even left at those temps. What I discovered is that each of the porcelain figures had a small hollow space on the bottom and a type of white porcelaneous cement holding the wire in place. Again more than you asked for
