houses with holes?

Post by Colleen »

Hi all, me again. My friend and I purchased a large lot of old houses and churches. I was lucky enough to get the beautiful Hacienda with preacher. In this group are 2 houses with holes in the chimney, small round holes. I've since seen 4-5 more houses like this on ebay. They have small pieces of rolled paper or something below the hole almost like a bird perch?? The red and green houses by the middle. Any ideas friends? Thanks

Hello,

I always assumed those holes were to vent the heat built up by those large (and HOT) Christmas tree bulbs of the day.
