Wee bit smaller version of Oct 2006 HOM Loggie

Good Sunday!

A very AWESOME person hooked me up with a good supply of single face cardboard, so it was time to try my hand at a loggie.
It's been fun to assemble, but definitely requires a tiny bit different skill set. Trying not to crush the tubes on the single face board is a bit of a trick. I did find that you can stick a toothpick down them and pop them back out a bit if it happens.
Looking fwd to painting this one, I'm guessing that it is going to require a little more technique too than Im use to.

I actually like your smaller, condensed version...we are sure your paint and finish job will be perfect...

Hi Brian, this look great!!, I have the same problem with the one sided corrugated cardboard and I also used the toothpick when I glued the pieces in place so I wouldn’t crush the flutes. I even had problems crushing the flutes when I was cutting the cardboard so I but two pieces together, so the flutes interlock, then I cut through both pieces at once, this helped to prevent crushing the flutes.

Lynn thank you for the tip! I will remember for next time! I think I got all the dents out, thankfully I didn't flatten anything beyond repair. I had a few ends start to flatten out when cutting too, but not too bad.

I've had a lot of fun painting this one. It looks a little different from the original but the same general idea I think. I believe I read on Papa Ted's site the original had white over spray, but I think Im going to leave it off this version. It's getting close to being done, I had to make a new batch of white coco for the roof and snow, and Im going to do a dark green coco on the base I think, and still need to make that. Hoping to have it all finished up by the weekend!

Good Morning!!

Worked on this house for about 3 hours last night after everybody went to bed and put the finishing touches on it while eating my Honey Nut Cheerios this morning.

You may notice I went with a little different color scheme than the original. Since this house was a Wee bit smaller the than its older counterpart, I decided to take a few more liberties with it. I only have one original loggie in my collection of vintage pieces, but I LOVE it for two reasons. The first is because it has a dark green base, and I dont have any other houses with a forest green base. The second is because it has Metallic Silver accents.
I didn't use the Silver on this house, but it was my inspiration for base color.
