Merry Christmas everyone!
I'm new here and just learning about making houses. My family had putz houses set up under the tree each year (my father made a few of them himself in the early 60s). So, I naturally love them!
I am making a few (5 or so) mid-century modern style ones for my mom and sister. I read (or rather, MIS-read) Howard's tutorials and made the houses out of cereal box cardboard and the roofs out of chipboard. I am worried that there will be a problem with them being made of cereal box cardboard. I am going to add the glitter to the first one tomorrow, so I guess I'll see then if it collapses under the weight of the glitter.
I'll post photos after Christmas in case my sister is on here (she was taking about making some of these houses when she saw the patterns on Retro Renovation). I had already ordered a ton of materials to make the houses and so I had to tell her that that was what I was making for her for Christmas.
I really enjoy reading about the materials you use and your experiences making the houses!
Thanks!

don't worry about the houses falling down...they won't...cereal box cardboard is a lot stronger than you think...

Seathingie,
Good to have you onboard. I hope to see lots of photos eventually. And your walls won't fall down.
