custom "glitter house" project...

Post by Howard »

greetings to all...

here are pix of a “glitter house” version of an actual home i completed last fall…but had to wait until now to post…it was a gift from the client to a family member…

(please excuse the harshly illuminated photos…these pictures were taken on the kitchen table…not in the photo area of my shop)…

the house was a real challenge due to the many different roof angles, multiple peaks, gables and two dormers…it took quite a few tries with cereal box cardboard to get the dimensions of these parts right before cutting the final pieces…

the base measures about 9 ½” x 8 ½” x 5/8” thick…overall height, including base, is about 6”… there are 18 windows…the piece is landscaped and finished on all four sides…

my very best regards…

howard…

Awesome house!!! It definitely looks like it took some engineering. Are those loofa shrubs? Cute park bench too! Did you make that from scratch?

regarding hedge...made from about 1/2" to 5/8" high strips of green scrubbing pads from the dollar store...i usually cut the top with pinking shears and spray with green spray paint...then glue sections in place...

regarding the bench...made from cardboard...if anyone is interested, i'll post a pattern for the cuts and folds...the pattern will be larger than the actual piece...so you'll have to size to fit your needs...
