Tom, of all the treats you've just posted, the little old lady figure is the most delightful. No doubt about it, you have the definitive hacienda collection. Charming!

Here is one of my favorite Haciendas in full Fiesta regalia - the blue and magenta are classic colors for this type. Bigger than the usual 6 ½" ones and with lots of interesting details. The "Porch" fence detail is that of an earlier time and the shallow little attached room on the right is the narrowest I've yet seen regardless of size. About like a cracker stuck on the front. This original porcelain snowman is the harder to find one with the top hat. At least if he is not smiling he isn't frowning either. The front cardboard stick-on tree was half broken off but this was almost identical (with one minor detail) to one I had so I repaired this one using the other as a pattern. Large, bright and beautiful it only needed a little cornstarch on the white roof. Notice that the body of the house is airbrushed and has the corner devices to look like stonework. Almost looks like snow accumulated on the tops of them! A real cutie!. This large house is 7" long and 5 1/4" high. Tom H

This is a large size hacienda sort of conventional but love the X cut outs on the fence also the Lycopodium (common name is Princess Pine) and you sometimes see this especially on Hacienda styles. Perhaps it was nearby the maker of these houses. It grows in shady somewhat forested areas. Notice that the Lycopodium is stuck in "firecracker urns" made for the purpose. Nice condition. Notice also the Santa is much larger than the usual run of porcelain Santas and is made of pottery -more like the ones on churchs from the late 40's early 50's (which were some of the nicer Santas) however this is what came with it and I belive original to it. This is TRULY a giant and is 7 3/4" long and 5 1/2" high. I have 3 of these large houses and they all seem to have the same circular stamped mark on the bottom.

Another very large Hacienda style with the X design in the fence and with Lycopodium "urns". This one was in the process of rehabbing and is not quite done. The Santa is one I made for the purpose. Notice the colors used the wet on wet watercolor technique very effectively here. Notice further the two little water color twig like designs on the front of the small extension. I suspect that there may have been a pottery type tree top. I have another large Hacienda with just such a design (hand painted) with a large spot of paint missing just above it?? as Papa Ted would say "Ah the mysteries!"
I have just loaded a photo of this house completed and with LYCO taken in available light.
This is a giant and is 7 3/4" long and 5 1/2" high. I have 3 of these houses and they all seem to have the same circular stamped mark on the bottom.

And finally (at least for tonight) a couple of Santa's castle haciendas. The smaller one is the one I first owned and the larger one has those sneaky Santa onion skin windows with a little girl in front. Notice the corner piece attachments and of course these are all airbrushed types. ALL of the Sneaky Santa window houses I have seen are airbrushed. A note. THE ONLY LIGHT that would come out of these houses originally were those tiny port holes near the top. So I carefully de-constructed the front addition and cut a LARGE section out so that light would come through. Another feature of the larger Santa castle is the loopy fence that LOOKS hand cut but after careful examination I could see a repeat pattern of 3 loops in another house so they did have a cutting punch for it. Hard to find anyway.

Here is another of those giant Haciendas with the Lycopodium "firecracker" Urns. This is TRULY a giant and is 7 3/4" long and 5 1/2" high. I have 3 of these large houses and these all seem to have the same circular stamped mark on the bottom. This one has a spot of missing paint over the hand painted watercolor "twig" on the right of the house. ENJOY

And not everything has to be big to be of interest. Here is a LOGGIE Hacienda that I got early on in my collection of Haciendas and was part of a larger set of at least 6. I have in fact never seen another like it. This was all done with watercolor brush technique and the base wet on wet. Sorry about the blurry photo.
