Paul, thanks, I have developed some what of a method now. First I take pics of the house that have been documented on the web/Papa Teds site. Then I blow them up proportionatly to one of the doors that I recreated and is to size. That way I know that the photo is the proper size. Then I make a pattern in my art program. After that I print it out and cut it out...wish I had a plotter..this part would be much faster. Then I use the pattern so I don't really have any guess work to do, aside from a few minor adjustments. Usually just shaving a little off a piece. However the Rainbow/Martha Stewart house had one overhang I had to do a bit of improve to because my pattern didn't leave enough room for the other little part of the building to fit underneath. But I just trace my pattern on the cardboard and cut it out. Then the Aleene's fast grab glue works great and allows me to put together multiple parts at a time. I do let each step fully dry though before moving on. One thing about the coconut too, is that it is very forgiving and hides any imperfections.

Here is a pic of the Country House all in primer. I did this yesterday afternoon. We are having a heatwave, not as bad as the other parts of western America, but for us. It did make my primer dry extremely fast! I actually have this house pretty much done, with the exception of the fence color and coco. So hopefully I'll be able to crank it out in the next few days. I'm going to take a break from building to try and make the Raffia fence I need, so it may be a few weeks before I post the next house, plus we got the 4th coming up!

Hope everybody is having a great afternoon!!! Enjoy your Sunday!!
-Brian

Thanks so much for the kind words Lynn, it has been so fun working on them! I'm almost done with the last 2 houses. I love playing in the garden too! :) The heatwave is keeping me from it, other than watering the heck out of stuff!

Good Morning! Just got a new batch of Coconut from Pete yesterday!! So I was able to finish up the country house. I ordered several colors so he is still in the process of getting them all made, so I'm still needing the silver/blue color to finish up the rainbow house.
I'm pretty happy with how the Country House came out, I had Pete match the orange color from my original's fence, and he nailed it spot on!

Heres a side by side with my original... I made the new one to match more closely to the fair set. Notice the extra tree, longer fence, and more windows on the top of the house. Also my original had the salt n' pepper coconut, and the fair set house was all white.

Brian, Hope you have affixed "Bloodgood" labels to these beauties as well as the date completed and your signature for posterity!!!! They are awesome!!! Could you post a pic of the "Fair set" houses you've completed? Would love to see them together.

I agree with les...a group pix...label, sign and date each house...the coconut colors are so vibrant...really looking forward to seeing the completed "rainbow/Martha Stewart" house, too...

Oh, yes...one more thing...give the little one a few houses and trees of her own...let her set up a village...take some pictures...you'll be so glad you did...

I might of missed it but is there an example of the "Martha Stewart" house people keep referring to.
