Good morning everyone. I'm putting together my very 1st "Pink Princess Putz Castle" (whew, loooong word! lol..) here and I'm stuck. I am going to build a stand for it, but I don't know what to adorn it with! Green grass? Rainbow color? lol... This is also my 1st time to use pure glitter, which I think turned out pretty nice actually (Howard's favorite medium! ) I will be selling this piece and donate all the proceedings to children's cancer research. I want this project to be extra special, so-- I am asking you, my good friends, for your sagely advice to make this the BEST castle ever! Thanks all... I will keep you all posted on the progress for this...
Cheers Always,
Will ~_*

Will, this is a beautiful castle, I love the colors, and what a wonderful thing you are doing.
Not sure what you think of this idea but how about mixing different colors of glitter together. Starting with white as your bade and less amounts of each color, maybe 3, yellow, pink, and green, maybe one more, to match the castle. Play around with some different samples. I've never mixed glitter before so I'm not sure how this will look.
That Lynn, is a PERFECT idea! Something like this: fan·ta·sia
fanˈtāzēə/
noun
-free form and often an improvisatory style.
-a thing that is composed of a mixture of different forms or styles.
I want to make this really look like it's from another world. Like a Fairy castle. Trees could be shaped differently, in a whimsical style as well(?) Hmmm, possibilities are truly endless on this one!

How about a castle in the clouds? Use a large piece of puffy cotton to give the impression of a cloud and then sprinkle the cloud with fairy dust (the above referenced glitter combination).
And a castle must have a carriage, a carriage drawn by pink flocked horses with wings. Sadly I can't point to a specific existing toy that you might customize but I will look around.
Your idea is great, the donation to the children's charity is awesome. Thank you!
Will,
This is a beautiful castle. I love the colors and the glitter. You can buy bottle brush trees and bleach them, then die them whimsical colors. I do think a carriage and horses would be nice, but I don't think I could make a flattie that would work. Soldiers? The British guards with the tall hats might look cool (Grenadier guards, I think) and you might be able to find some fairly easily. Whatever you choose I know it will be really great.

Castle in the clouds, this is a great idea! I have been looking for a princess. There are a loads of sets from Disney kind of pricy but I will keep looking....
old howard votes for the fluffy cloud base with a hint of clear or crystal glitter...
about the figurines...try the dollar store...also look in the wedding supply area of the craft store or cake decorating online sources...may find a carriage and horses...
Great Castle!!! It's funny I've never been a fan of pink, but after I had a daughter and it was her favorite color for several years...it kind of grows on you! Can't wait to see how you finish it, love all the sparkles!! I'm throwing my vote in for a unicorn somewhere, but sounds like there might already be a lot going on! I also think its awesome you're donating the profits to charity!!
Yes Brian, I wasn't a big fan of Pink either, but-- after seeing how this is turning out, it is alluring! Oh there will definitely be a "Unicorn" in there, and lots of other sweet little surprises! And yes, it WILL hang in a pillow of rainbow-filled clouds! Just trying to figure out the logistics on how I'm gonna pull this off.. Have I bit off more than I can chew?? Oh boy... ...
Until next post gang!.....
Here are a few carriage possibilities. Since I am not sure of your structure's dimenions, I may be off base on some of these. But I hope they are at least worth looking at for further inspiration. I left off fine jewelry pieces costing hundreds of dollars or more, assuming that was not your desired direction.
