A friend of mine recently had triplets. I made houses for the triplets and the older daughter. I made them from a die I found online called Village Dwelling. http://www.sizzix.com/660992/sizzix-big ... e-dwelling
It's a pretty nice little house pattern. I was hoping it would make me faster, but I always debate and experiment and take forever for every house I make. I'm going to cover them with glitter and snowtex. I'm debating about making a fence or not - maybe a traditional putz fence. I've made some sisal trees that I will use as well. Maybe a simple little snowman out of clay?

Re: Little houses for friend with new babies
Great start, Lucy, I always like it when folks include the interim steps.
Re: Little houses for friend with new babies
Cute houses! The windows and doors are great! Looking fwd to seeing them all finished up!
Re: Little houses for friend with new babies
The houses are almost done. I need to add a little something to the trees and glitter the front step. That's about it. I made the trees with sisal rope and died them with rit dye, then glitter and snow-tex and more glitter. This is my first experience with snow-tex. I may have been a little stingy with it on the roofline.
I like this village dwelling die to make houses. The roof doesn't have enough overhang though. Usually I do an "over-roof" anyway to make things stronger, but I was trying to hurry so I just used the roof as it was cut out by the die.
The little houses warped when I painted them so they are all roundish rectangles. Still, I think my friend and her children will like them.
