ANOTHER EASTER HOUSE/CANDY CONTAINER 1920's
I really wasn't looking through my collection to find more Easter but this one just jumped out at me. I love the cotton Rooster and Chick. The canvas, heart shaped leafs on the vine are pretty cool as well. Happy Easter.

Pete, that is flat out amazing. I love rooster and the chick. And then the heart shaped vine is really cool. Truthfully though, some of those old Santas are a little frightening.
Thank you so much for finding this and saving this and sharing this incredible vintage putz with us.

Happy belated Easter! Found this in my collection of candy containers. The only mark on the bottom is a penciled "10". The bottom may have been replaced as the cardboard is a different color than the side walls that slide up into the house. Still, a favorite of mine and I hope you enjoy.

Hello Barb, way cool! Thank you for sharing. I hope you don't mind if I use your photos as part of my special chapter on Easter Putz Houses? I wonder how many more of these are going to show up? I really believe the base (candy tray) is authentic. Many of my candy container's bottoms look a bit different.

Hi Pete, I appreciate you asking. Feel free to use the photos.

What a great collection of Easter houses and candy boxes. It seems we have opened a whole new world of putz houses!
The chicks and roaster look very similar to the needle felted figures we see today.

All of these little Easter houses are incredible. I agree with Lynn that it opens up a whole new world that I did not know existed. I would like to figure out how to make the little figures. Lynn, do you think they are needle-felted? The bodies look pretty dense so I doubt they are rolled.
