howard's BIG CHURCH project...

Greetings to all…

I’ve started on one of my two major projects for 2017...a BIG CHURCH…see the inspiration piece in the top left of the photo below…

Overview and a few details…12” tall including base…9” x 7 1/2” x 7/8” thick base…not sure about all colors or finish (glitter or sand) just yet…will be illuminated with 4 LEDs powered by 2 AA batteries…hand cut card stock window mullions painted with deco art dazzling metallic’s “emperor’s gold”…matchstick window sills…round rose window measures about 1 1/4” in diameter…

Won’t be able to provide patterns for this project…but I will be posting progress photos…and gladly answer any questions…

Will, I think this is the second biggest church Howard has built. Howard, could you post pix of the two cathedrals you built

greetings to all...

here's a quick pix of the LED lighting setup...(sorry...no really a pretty sight...but it works very well)...not show is the back panel that holds the battery box and on/off switch...

the LEDs, battery box and tiny two-pin connector are from http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/...one LED shines directly up into each tower, one through the front door and one through the rose window...the switch is from radio shack...

right, Les...this is the "second biggest"...here are pix of the first three that were much taller...somewhere over 15"...with a lot more trim details and monsters to paint...
