I hope everyone is enjoying our early spring weather. Over the years I have had customers ask me to send them dimension of certain putz houses that they would like to make. Between Linda and I we have well over 3000 houses. It would be hard to ask me to furnish measurements of a house that we don't have! LOL With that said, these two photos show the work that I put into producing decent measurements for reproduction purposes. After making the sixth Blueprint sheet it dawned on me that not everybody has the skill or the time to convert these drawings into a finished product. As long as I was taking all this time why don't I use it more productively? From now on I will be translating these dimension into Kit forms. These kits will come complete with all materials needed to make an exacting duplicate of a vintage Putz House. (excluding Coconut due to color choices). I have included 2 of 4 Kit pages to show the direction I'm going. Please give me as much feedback as you like. I will be working out details as I experiment. I really don't want to have to type every step by step instructions so I think this might be "Not for the inexperienced model builder"?
I don't know if I have mentioned this to my fellow Putz House enthusiasts but I've been a miniaturist since I was 5 years old. I have been playing with paper, cardboard, paste and scissors forever. I actually went into architecture so I could build models not the real thing! LOL I really wanted to be a Dioramist but everyone told me that there was no future in that profession. My little cousin proved me wrong, many years later as that's what he does for a living. All the professions I've dabbled in, all my experiences, all my hobby's have led me to this point in time where I have "Turned my vacation into my vocation" Mark Twain I'm 67 years old and spent my life living, exploring and experimenting and that left me with no concept of retirement! Never looked forward to it, never saved for it, never worried about it. I plan, God willing, to keep working and playing as long as I can, the longer the better. The reason I'm sharing this information with my fellow collector's is this hobby is my way of sublimating my income. (most of the money I charge of these putz parts etc. goes right back into materials, tools) Please don't view me as selfish or greedy when I charge for some of these items. I hope to make it up to our hobby by sharing things that I've learned and tricks of the trade for refurbishing these little gems...

Re: NEW KITS AVAILABLE...
Looks promising Peter.
Just the blueprints alone are a ton of work.
And then to have a ready assemble kit too.
That would be cool.
Any thought of offering the blueprints as one package and then the blueprints plus kit materials as a second.
Oh, your pictures are way detailed too. They look great.

Re: NEW KITS AVAILABLE...
Nice to hear from you Steve. I can put together anything that our fellow collector's might need. That's the fun of knowing people that share the same interest. Just let me know and we'll do our best to make everyone happy.
Re: NEW KITS AVAILABLE...
Always looking for a new challenge.
Do you have a list of the ones you've draw up already.
Or will it me a bit.
Don't want to rush the master.

Pete...You have it all figured out!...
The carefully dimensioned blueprint sheet samples really don't leave anything to the imagination...
Will the kits be laser cut or die cut?...since you're a printer--my guess is die cut...
Looking forward to see the details on your web site...
My very best regards...Howard...

I would love to see plans for the petit 4 Pete. How much for the plan on that cool mint green and pink one? I love the tree on its balcony!

Re: NEW KITS AVAILABLE...
good afternoon...
i've started building "mrs. claus' cottage" following the sample blueprint and the photos pete posted...
as i mentioned in a previous post...the details and the dimensions really don't leave anything to the imagination...all the critical measurements are there...
i did make one small change...i made the attic window the same size as the window next to the door...
my version will probably not be covered in coconut...i'll use glitter...but i am going to follow the same basic color theme...
more pictures later...
howard...

Re: NEW KITS AVAILABLE...
good morning to all...
here is my finished "little glitter house" version of "mrs. claus' cottage" that i made from the sample blueprints, photos and dimensions that pete posted...
you will notice a few small differences -- where the porch roof meets the roof on the right...and that the attic window is the same size as the lower window...and of course -- i went with clear glitter and snow-tex over painted surfaces rather than coconut and sand finishes...
i have to say..."thanks, pete, for giving us an advanced look at you future plans for blueprints and kits"...
my very best regards...howard...

Another great job, Howard.
I'm always amazed at how fast you get one completed.
