THE 2013 FRENCH TINSEL TREE PUTZ

Please use this forum for photos of your putz villages - some of you don't make your own houses, but you still display a lot of artistry when you combine and arrange them. And the rest of us would love to see your work. Again, it works best if you resize your photos to 800px wide or less before you upload them - Paul

THE 2013 FRENCH TINSEL TREE PUTZ

Post by maria »

As many of you know, some of us have so many putz houses (smile) we simply have to have more than one tree! This is the 2013 "French" tinsel tree, festooned with hand-made ornaments featuring French ladies and lots of Marie Antoinette--the blue castle is a copy of an early putz from the 1930's--the colors were changed to blue and antique gold/brown--created by artisan Kary Fey. The large cathedral comes with its own LED light source, many many stained glass windows, and was created by Howard Lamey of littleglitterhouses.com. All the "Frenchified" figures are vintage made in Japan. The masted ship is a beautifully well made enamel and rhinestone pillbox and was found in one of our local shops, Trinkets Jewelry

Thank you everyone for your comments. I also found these little battery operated color changing led lights which mimic a color wheel used on the old fashioned aluminum trees to highlight the tinsel tree. Nice effect overall.

This is my "fun" putz; the others are more traditional. I hope to put up photos soon.

It's been a real privilege to own the outstanding craftsmanship of Karl Fey and Howard Lamey.
