A-frame Houses

Does anyone else like or build A-frame houses? If so, post them up!

I've loved A-frames since I was little and I am actually in the process of building a real one (tiny A-frame).

So naturally, I would build some cardboard A-frames haha.

I'm new at this so I'm still figuring things out, so I haven't done windows, doors or bases yet.

Here are 2 that I've done so far.

The red one is my version of the Hatcher Pass A-frame in Alaska.

I guess I'm the only one that likes A-frames haha.

Here's another teeny tiny one that I built that has about a 1 1/4" footprint and is about 1 1/2" tall. The house itself is cardboard coated in sand. The doors and windows are cardboard that I painted. The wreath is also cardboard that is coated in sand. I'm just using a heavy cardstock or chipboard for my cardboard. The little logs are cut and painted dowel rods. The tree is made from a loofah sponge and painted green.

I glued the house to a piece of cut foam board and then added the snow.

The snow is a product called Vallejo snow weathering effect. I'm not sure if any of you use it or not, but it gives a really nice snow effect and dries almost like cement, so it adds durability! Sorry if someone has already discussed this product, but it worked really well for me.

This picture is taken in Rocky Mountain National Park. Yes, I carried it with me in my camera bag while I was snowshoeing!

I love A-frame houses, too. Your builds are wonderful. And your little snowy cabin in the Rocky Mountain National Park is so cute. One detail is especially impressive and that is how artfully you put it in the snow.

Did you build up real snow around it or that's the base snow on your little house? In any case, the setting is incredible.

Always nice to see peoples different passions related to houses. The Blue one is very artistic and the background setting is picturesque - reminds me of Montana!!!
