Here's a place to post patterns you want to share, link to patterns you find elsewhere on the internet, and request particular kinds of patterns you're looking for. I've moved a few existing messages here to get the forum started.

Transforming your home into a Putz House...

Post by Pete R.Oehmen »

I learnt that you can't start a post and walk away for an hour! I lost all of my post. Lesson learned, let me start over... Hello fellow builders. I have been building putz houses for many years. Most all of them are translations of real houses of my family and friend's. Usually these are Christmas presents. I have just recently decided to test and see if there was a market for this service. Here are the starting pictures of my first commission. They also wanted me to sculpt a figure of their cat. (picture shows unfired and unpainted cat). All I use are a couple of pictures supplied by the client.

I'm also including a couple of pictures of a fantasy putz Clock Tower that I built to test the very first batch of coconut. The green house was a gift to my best buddies parent's home. (all three have since passed, God rest their soul's). This house was my first attempt and Sawdust Coconut. Not to shabby.

More pictures... Notice that the brick work is the pattern that I copied from an original Printie Candy Container. I'll do my best to paint the cat as accurate to the supplied picture.

Pete...

Superior workmanship...I can tell from comparing the photos of the actual home and your Putz-size version...

Yes...there is a "definite market for the custom building service"...I sincerely wish you great success...

Hope you'll post more project progress photos and pictures of the finished Putz...

My very best regards...

Howard...

Oh, I love this house - actually all the houses. The details are all so well done. I make Halloween houses partly because I am messy and get things crooked. Your lines are so straight. It is inspiring to see this. Thank you.

Hi Pete,

I always wondered, how did the house turn out?
