Bookcase top village - 2015

Please use this forum for photos of your putz villages - some of you don't make your own houses, but you still display a lot of artistry when you combine and arrange them. And the rest of us would love to see your work. Again, it works best if you resize your photos to 800px wide or less before you upload them - Paul

Bookcase top village - 2015

Post by Laurie »

This is the 2nd year for my village. I have added a few newly restored houses, newly painted cars from the '40s and streetlights cut down to scale. A few more people are wandering about and a trolley can be seen traveling along a 'snow covered track." This year's village is bit hillier and I've tucked in a few more vintage trees. Below are day and night time views as well as some close ups.

Is the Santa on the porch a repro or a restoration. looks shiny and new.

To my knowledge the Santa is original. He was quite dirty, like the rest of the house when I received it. I wiped him off with plain water and was surprised at how new he looked when clean. I will say he appears to be a type of ceramic clay as opposed to composite. Also, he has a thin rusted wire molded in. I have seen this same Santa on this house several times and I have another house like this one, with the same Santa. Hope that helps.
