I have friends who will never make a house from scratch for various reasons. However, they'll pour their heart and soul into an unfinished one. This link takes you to a large unfinished chipboard house by the scrapbooking people, Doodlebug. It's very "whimsical" in shape and would look ideal in a setting of 1950's vintage Christmas kitsch:

I started building these many years ago. Got part way through two of the buildings, set the project down and there it still sits in The Cave! This will make a good blog project for this year sometime.
