Putz Patterns I Found or Made

Here's a place to post patterns you want to share, link to patterns you find elsewhere on the internet, and request particular kinds of patterns you're looking for. I've moved a few existing messages here to get the forum started.

That's gorgeous, Howard. I noticed that on the unlighted house, it appears that the windows are all the standard gold mullions and frames around the red windows, but when your house is lighted, it appears that the windows are a warm yellow. Is that an artifact of my computer's color rendering, do you think, is it a change that occurs because of the light bulb(s?) you use, or is there another mystery you can explain to me?

It's no where near the perfect craftsmanship of Howard's, but I made a little 2 story also. Thanks so much, Howard! :)

Nan,

The yellow hue of the windows in Howard's "lit" photo has to do with the fact that low-wattage incandescent bulbs give a slightly yellow hue. The celophane isn't like theatre lighting gells -it isn't thick enough to completely disguise the color of the light from the bulb. But low-light photography makes the effect seem even more pronounced - with the camera set to high sensitivity to capture the details of the house, the light coming through the window seems brighter (and yellower) than it would if you were in the room yourself.

Hope this makes sense. On my garden railroad, I have buildings with all colors of "curtains" in the windows. But from a few yards back, when it's dark outside and my eyes have adjusted to the light, they all seem to give off a yellow glow.
