Good morning from Texas!
Here are a couple of pictures of the progress on the Craftsman Cottage. I have installed the front windows and door. The brighter picture is of the porch without the roof. The other is of the roof installed. I will now do the side windows and then start on the roof... I may try to include a dormer as well.

Re: Craftsman Cottage
Ok, here are a couple of more pictures. These pictures show how I used Howard's technique of sandwiching the windows between two pieces of card stock. As he suggested I folded over the paper then cut out the opening. It did make it much easier to glue the windows to the inside. The picture with the round edges I took through one of the holes in the back where the light source will be...

Re: Craftsman Cottage
greetings...
i wish i could take credit for the window technique...but can't...it's an old model railroad structure building technique that has been around for many, many years...all i did was simplify the process for making little houses...

Howard,
Whatever the origin of this technique I thank you for sharing it with us to make our Hobby a little easier.
Thank you,
Lee

Here are a couple of pictures of the roof dormer; front and back. The picture of the back reminds me of old fashioned 3D glasses... LOL... I need to get a brighter green for the roof so I will be off to Hobby Lobby this afternoon...

Re: Craftsman Cottage
Hello everyone,
The house is finished and now I am moving on to the base. I am in a quandary and seem to be blocked as I can't decide how to do the base. Do I include trees? A Santa? I am wondering if I should just do a fence and nothing else so not to take away from the house. I welcome any feedback any of you could offer. If I include the trees the base will need to be large. In the pictures the whole thing is on an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of graph paper. Thank you for your suggestions.
