2025 (July) Flattie Project…Steam Farm tractor…

Greetings to all,

This is a subject that emerged unexpectedly and aligns well with the barn and silo Little Glitter House constructed a few years ago. I used several internet photos for inspiration and important details. As this "flattie" is built similarly to many others detailed on the forum, the process will not be described step-by-step; the images will illustrate the progression.

The 1” diameter rear wheels and 5/8” diameter front wheels were laser cut and sourced from a company no longer in operation; however, laser cut wheels can still be found online. Note that the wheels consist of two pieces glued together and wrapped with strips of card stock to increase their diameter.

Patterns for the components are available in the PDF below the photographs. A picture of the completed tractor will be posted later. Stay tuned.

UPDATE...7/19/2025...

Another project is finished...Colorful?...I think so...and those three coats of clear poly acrylic finish really do make it look like metal and not posterboard...stay tuned for more projects...
