Printed postwar cutout houses

A reader is interested in learning more about a postwar cutout village that Ted and Tom both collected. He says:

"I own a (built) set identical to the printed sheets in the reference photograph. Since this was first posted, has there been any more information discovered about this charming postwar village?"

I've been looking for info on this one for years---without success---I was reminded, however, when I went to Ted's page link--as you recommended in the post above---about Happitime---and a 1944 airport they made out of cardboard....i came across an ad for it from a 1944 Sears catalog and kept it---posting it here in case it means anything to anyone

Maria, thanks for this. It goes back to the era when all metal was being diverted to the war effort, and many, many "toys" were being made out of wood or cardboard. Lionel even sold a card stock "train set" that they claimed would run on the rails - to many kids' disappointment, of course.
