update...4-10-2019...

greetings to all...

here is the finished "june" house (church)...number 6 in the series of 12...don't know how to exactly describe the color of the sand...it depends of the lighting...it could be described as a soft brown, dusty lavender or sort of a mouse color...but when it is next to other ten cent city house...which are much brighter...it looks just fine due to the contrast in colors...

i'll be posting the "july" house pattern and a picture of it in raw cardboard sometimes next week...

Hello Lee, The process of converting a svg (Scalable Vector Graphics) file seems simple enough (see website on youtube). What do you need this kind of file for if I may ask? I haven't tried to convert a file yet but I may try... Do you need it for placing in a website? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA7BX-cI-RE

Lee -

I've done it using QCAD and my own patterns. I'm assuming you are asking because you'd like to use the patterns in a craft cutter, yes?

QCAD is open source and the community version is free. The free version will allow you to export to .pdf files that can be imported and manipulated in software that's used by the cutting machine. The "professional" version costs around $40.00 and allows for exporting .svg files.

There's a little bit of a learning curve but, it's pretty simple once you learn the basics. There are plenty of tutorials and such online.

Yes, I wanted to be able to use the patterns with my Cricut craft cutter. I am afraid I am an old dog incapable of learning new tricks. Design Space for the Cricut is almost beyond me. Their tutorials are not helpful at all to me...

This is good info for me, I have a cricut explore air 2 and have been struggling with it.

I really want to use this when I make multiple of the same houses for gifts.

I primarily use the .022 size chipboard and even with the deep cut bade it does not cut well. The multiple passes leases the edges very frayed. I know cricut have a new blade out that works better but will not fit into my cricut explore air 2. Unfortunately cricut makes you upgrade to a new machine as they come out with better accessories. Any ideas? Thanks so much!
