Re: two small houses to start 2014...

Very Nice Howard! The mica is cool, I have used it a few times on fixer uppers and such, and it has such a cool shine and vintage look!

I love the mica look and those are very cut houses.

One year the folks at Vintage Mica Snow gifted me a huge jar of it. http://micasnow.com/
I have it ...

glitter fixative

Hairspray makes an excellent fixative for glitter. Just a light coating will do the job. It does not significantly reduce the sparkle.
If I want more glitter on the ground sheets of a snow scene I sprinkle on some glitter than use hairspray to fix it in place. Works to add sparkle glitter to cotton ...

basic patterns to enlarge

There is a very handy online calculator that can also be used to figure out the miter angle for the multi-sided roofs of varying pitches. It is meant for cutting them on the table saw but you won't need the blade angle function it produces, just the miter setting. All you have to enter is the number ...

Re: regarding hole punches...

Karin,

I get overwhelmed just looking at the catalog. Don't let Maria near those steel edges - she does enough damage with the Xacto knives.

Seriously, have you been using this stuff to make your own stamp? Next time, you could take lots of photos and notes, hint, hint.

Thanks for chiming in ...

Re: Microminiature putz house kits

Karin, one of our other members brought these to my attention. Pretty cool. My old eyes aren't up to it though. :-)

They will be available as larger sized kits in 2014. Sales of the kits at my Etsy store were terrific this Christmas seasons on the little sized ones so I am re investing some of ...

Re: regarding hole punches...

The original houses were die cut. If you are going to make the same shape over and over again you can make your own dies.
Finding the steel rule die in smaller quantities is the bigger problem. Making the dies is not too bad, it just a groove in a block into which you insert the steel. You can have ...
