good morning to all...
here is one of the final pieces i built this year...i know you will notice right away that i had to "squeeze" the house from left to right more than i usually do to make it a manageable size for display...i also used my artistic license with the landscape details...
the base measures about 7" x 9"...overall height of the house including the base is a little less than 5"...
my very best regards to all...
howard...

Nice one Howard!! Its a charmer for sure! Your artistic license has not failed you, love the wreath and shrubs.
Are the two flatter shrubs bottle brushes you trimmed down or are those your green scrubby pad method?

good morning...from a rather warm and humid north florida...is that the air conditioner i hear?...yes...
brian...regarding the flatter shrubs...yes...they are bottle brush trees i pruned to the shape i wanted...then added a touch of white paint, glue and glitter to the tops and sides as required...
i do have plans to make some hedges out of luffah sponge and green sifted sawdust next year...it's an old model railroad scenery technique...been around for generations...
i'm sure i'll still use strips of dollar store green scrubby pad, too...
my very best regards to all...howard...

Cool Howard, I look fwd to seeing your luffah shrubs as well! It will be neat to see them with the sawdust covering!
It's crazy how weather differs from one side of the country to the other, Portland is the coldest its been in 4 years and we actually have snow sticking to the ground this morning, although I dont suspect it will stick around too long. I work in a poorly heated shop, and have to open the door for ventilation....not looking fwd to work today.
