I purchased this house with a group of others but liked it because of the lavender base. Also it is in nicer than average condition. What really set me back was the paper label pasted on Made in Japan sticker on the bottom. Several things are "Just not fittin" here.
One is the raffia fence - where did that come from? And though on one of the legitimate more typical green spot types I have a house with black grit in the white finish I have only seen the one and of course this one. And the windows are a gold framed printed cellophane windows ? ? This little house design used to be fairly common and appeared often along with several others of the sandy houses with coconut roofs and no doubt comprised a set and I have a few of them as likely do many other collectors but the paper label sort of throws me on this one. The raffia fence makes it fairly early perhaps no later than 1933 but more likely 1932.
