Greetings to all…

It’s a new month and time for a new project…I was introduced to this type of structure via an email I received from a talented crafter of items rich with Norwegian folk culture…

It certainly grabbed my attention…and knew I had to make my own Little Glitter House version…there are so many chances for detail trims and personal touches…search images for NORWEGIAN STABBUR and you’ll see what I mean…there is certainly not a regimented design…and my finished version does vary a little from the initial sketch shown below...

There is really nothing new regarding the making this piece…it’s only a small log cabin sitting on a square log base…there are four corner piers that raise the bottom 1/2” off the top of the base…stay tuned for more photos and building details…

Here is the finished "stabbur"...for more contrast I should have probably gone with more gray on the logs so that the deer would show up better...perhaps next time...

Note...I see several "loggies" in the works for 2024...so stay tuned...

I love this Howard. Partly because I’m of Norwegian ancestry, I have a whole pinterest page of Norwegian houses as inspiration. I’ve seen house like yours (with grass and goats on the roof), in Door County, Wi.

What a beautiful design. It's so appealing. I love seeing this.
