2 new restorations for this year's village

In a box of old houses I bought last year was this clock schoolhouse and the raked red house. Both were in fairly solid shape but they were so dirty I finally had to bleach the white areas. The doors were intact as were the windows in the red house and one window in the schoolhouse. The clock was partly there in pieces. I had to add a clock and make one fuzzy window. I also made a new flag and flagpole and re dyed the brown trees. Again, Pete's coconut did wonders as did repainting the base of the house and glueing back the torn sections.

Hi Laurie you did an amazing job with your resturations. Could you tell me how you did the fuzzy window?

Lynn, it was pretty basic really. I glued a new piece of red vellum behind the window for support and then I 'drew' the window sashes on the original cellophane with white tacky glue. I sprinkled on embossing powder for the fuzz. I could only match the color fairly close to the original.

Thanks what a good idea!
