Hello All:

I'm thinking of working on a Coralene bead house.

Does anyone have an on-line source for those beads.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, I made this house it has to be one of my favorite. You are going to really enjoy making it!

I used seed beads. I belive I purchased them at Michael's, they come in clear plastic tubs. The look judt like the originals in everyway. Let me know if you want a picture.

Would they be in the jewelry making section.

Is there a size to them. Not sure how they measure beads for jewelry making.

Thanks for the info.

Steve

Steve...

I was wishing Lynn would reply...because she built one a few years ago...

About the size...they are small...i would guess about less than about 1/8" diameter...the hole in them is not much larger than a sewing needle...when I was in the boy scouts we used to call them "Indian beads"...I've seen them at hobby lobby...may have been in the children' crafts area...

Hi Steve

I hope these pictures help.

Howard, you just took me down memory road...

I had a bead loom and made all kinds of things, with these beads mostly bracelets. :)

Seed beads come in a variety of sizes and vary a bit by manufacturer. One basic guide is how many beads fit in an inch which can determine size. I don't know the size of the beads in the Coralene house but it looks like Lynn's beads are size 11/0 and they are Czech made. If you still want an online source, they can be found at Fire Mountain Beads, Shipwreck beads and Bedazzled. I'm sure you can google a number of sources, just be aware of the type of manufacturer and the size if you order some. Have fun - I hope to make that house soon also.
