I need to get up to speed on making Halloween houses for the fall Habitat fundraiser. I've been distracted by other seasons. Anyway, this house was inspired by a new Sizzix die that came out recently that makes strips that are like Dresden trims. I decided to use the strips as shingles. I think it makes a really cool effect - very textural and tactile. There's more detail on my blog - one blog post about the die itself called an Impresslit because it cuts it out and embosses at the same time. It's really cool.

I will paint the base some more - it needs more color. Pumpkins will be added at some time. The steep roofline is a little much, but it's a Halloween house so I use distorted proportions. Probably won't distort things this much on the next house though.
