It might be too late, but in the past I have unwrapped and salvaged purple foil from a package of Hershey's Kisses that have carmel in the middle. They are foil wrapped in a similar color purple. But it looks like you have a workable material. Good Luck!

Kathi and Maria both have good ideas on this one. The trouble with Mylar is you can attempt to crinkle it all you want and it has a memory that tries to spring back. The original was a foil that crinkles nicely giving more reflective surfaces. Have you investigated the possibility of using florist foil? However I do what Kathi does. I especially like the holiday chocolates wrapped in different colored foils. Each season has different colors and indeed there are a number of purples out there. Fun to eat them and I save mine in a Sponge Bob Square Pants mini lunch box. (likely more than you needed to know.) Tom

Okay folks, here's the recent scoop on this project: I took Kathi/Tom's advice and went on a search for that "Hersheys Kiss" foil, and to my surprise, I found a very close match! You gotta admit, it DOES look good, eh? The other $1 store foil did exactly what Tom said it would do: Spring back to it's original form, Ugh!... In the future, if Maria's Hygloss foil does the job, (I have a local store here I need to check out) I might go ahead and purchase a roll of that later for other projects. I had to "break the bank" and shell out $5 for the kisses, but-- I am sure enjoying the taste of them during my restoration though! ;)

i'd say it's a "perfect match"...just think of the age difference in the foils...bet the new foil will age gracefully over time...enjoy the candy...
