Bought a Lionel passenger train today to use on a window display in a small town near here. Got it cheap because it had been painted. Yes painted. It's postwar plastic, maybe 1960s. What chemicals are safe to use to strip the bad paint job without melting the plastic?

Hi Paul, I vaguely recall this question coming up somwhere in my files with someone who found some 1950's plastic rocketships that had been painted gold! I believe I may have even saved the info and will try to dig it out later tonight.

Now I need to find out what the product's equivalent in this country is. . .
