Hi guys....

This year's Bunny Tableau, as guests have named my Easter table displays, incorporates last year's backdrop with some new miniature presents from my (delightful!) son: egg dying paraphernalia, Easter baskets, and a Very Bad Cat. I built the miniature picnic table
from plans on This Old House; and a few wee folks made from polymer clay. The birds' putz house is in the right rear corner... just to keep
things legal.

Hoppy Hoppy!

I really like the (very bad) cat who is holding the easter basket. The polymer figures are incredible. And I am so glad there is a putz birdhouse in the tableau to make everything legal, as you stated. We must follow the rules, you know.

Thanks for your nice comments, ladies. To answer your question, Lucy, I have to explain that I did not sculpt or "play with dolls" until this past year or so...I'm a very late-comer to this party. So, with respect to making other seasonal tableaux, my answer is: not yet! I do like your leaf cutting decorations, so you can throw my name into the raffle.

Regards,

Pat

OKPat...

my wife (and i) absolutely love the setting you've created...a perfect transition from 3-D foreground to the flat background photograph...

did you make the outfits for the figurines?...(i tried to "sew" a vintage santa suit once...what a disaster...guess i'd better stick to cardboard)...excellent woodworking on the picnic table also!...

hope you'll continue to share all your projects with us...

my very best regards...howard...

Thank you, Howard & Spouse.... Clothing, wigging, shoes, poseable armatures... that's what I love about this hobby...
you're always learning something new, solving (tiny) problems, and stretching the old imagination to re-open the Magic Window.

Of course, a lot of miniature work is illusion... your brain fills in the missing parts. For example (SPOILER ALERT), the littlest kid in the scene actually lacks a face, because I could not make one I liked. The same is true of the gardener in last year's Wishful Thinking. Since then, I've learned to use and adapt molds.

You're right, it can be a challenge to create the costumes.... 2 inches of fabric will NOT go into the feed of my sewing machine without catastrophe, so much of the seaming is glued, with the balance done by hand, which can be a drag. But my long term goal is to create a picture book for my new granddaughter and have it ready before she graduates from college.

Thanks again for the kind feedback.

Best,

Pat

Ready when she graduates from college - Now you have 2 of the funniest comments of the year on this forum.

Also I think your statement is completely true - a lot of miniature work is illusion - but also true for art, in general.
