That house is one of only two versions of the "pagoda" house (using PapaTed terminology) that are known to exist. Does anyone else have any similar houses? The crumpled paper "rock" base for this house is fabulous. Later houses use a similar concept, but don't execute the work as perfectly as on the pagoda houses. My other version of the pagoda house has a disc-capped round "rod" running horizontally at the ridge, instead of the pointy "pigeon preventer." |

That selection of houses is interesting because they are all related. That is they are likely ALL by the same obscure maker. Notice the little green house (a candy box house) has a pinked balcony edge that is similar to the Pagoda house. All of these houses are characterized by having square folded cardboard posts with square caps on them. The edge of the base shows around the bottom about 1/16" and the houses have floors in them - a fact that is sometimes hard to see unless removed from the base. I notice that Howard makes his posts this way and has a projection on the bottom of the base like these! An authentic and sensible idea. |

Kathi and Tom, thank for your insights on these houses. Tom, I wouldn't have recognized the similarities if you hadn't pointed them out. |
