good morning... tom...what did you use for texture on the base?...pete's coconut?...dyed sawdust?... i like the yellow base...a nice visual change from all white...especially with the pink and purple of the house... new silver mulls in windows are perfect, too... my very best regards...howard... |

for the base I painted it with a light lime green paint as that is what was there originally. I then put a bright yellow version of Pete's coconut on it. This was originally the combination that was used but the coconut had deteriorated into an almost unidentifiable shade of yellow tan. I think this is closer to what it may have originally looked like. In restoring these houses I have learned to take into consideration Japanese sensibilities regarding their color sense. In reality it is much greener in person than the photos show. |

It is a real big one. The base is 9" x 5 1/2" and is just a scoch under 7" |

Beautiful work Tom...I never thought this house would be a part of my Putz. My thanks for giving it new life! The colors are what prompted me to buy it and you have done a great job of keeping it "original." |
