greetings to all... just when i think i've hit a creative dry spell...i find another "flattie" project...see the image and pattern below...this "flattie" is suitable for a train station platform (where mine will be used)...or by changing the cart contents...and made into a street vendor... here's what i mean by changing the cart contents...go to the link below to see a holly vendor "flattie" that forum member, Lynn, made a while back...https://www.cardboardchristmas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1132 i'll post updates about making the wheel and a picture of the completed project at the train station...stay tuned... my very best regards... howard...

update...11-9-2019... here are most of the parts cut out and ready for assembly...i'll have to do some trimming on some of the pieces once they are glued in place...i may also add a few others as i build... the wheel is cut from scrap booking paper with an xacto knife...the black rim is a ring of scrap booking paper that was glued to the back side of the red rim and spokes and trimmed carefully with cuticle scissors... more later...stay tuned... howard...

update...11-14-2019... this "flattie" is finished...and he'll be hard at work when the train arrives... i've posed him in front of the "pack-o-fun" size train station i made last year...if you're not familiar with the "pack-o-fun" series...go here and scroll down to the station...or you can go to the same link and then select page 1 to get an overview of the series... https://www.cardboardchristmas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1554&start=70 now...a little self-critique...wish i'd left his hat, shirt and pants alone and not tried to age them with some smudges of wash...but i guess from a viewing distance it really doesn't matter... my very best regards... howard...

I love this Howard, as I do all of your flattie projects. And I wouldn't change a thing with the detail wash you added to the pants, hat, etc. Looks great from where I'm sitting! |

Your man and cart are so perfect in front of your railroad station. Wonderful. Wonderful. Howard, I don't think I have asked this before, but how do you paint the back side of the flattie? Just one color or do you paint it as meticulously as the front? Lucy |

Lucy Lucy...I do paint the backs that sort of represent how the corresponding area in the front are but without all the little details... Howard |
