So that's what it looks like painted. I've mentioned it before over at my blog but did not recognize it at all. Superb job Howard.

That house is beautiful. I love what you have done with it. And the way you painted the Santa is amazing.

update...4/17/2021...

Here's a closeup picture of both the Tim Holtz Salvage Snowman and Santa I painted...in addition to adding small round bases, painting with ordinary craft paint and giving them a good coat of high gloss clear polyacrylic, I added glass glitter to the bases...and that sort of yellowish color you see on some areas of the figurines is the polyacrylic starting to age...

Height is approximately 2-inches...not too big and not too little... :D

Thanks Howard! I just purchased them from the link you provided. Can't wait to get them. I will post the "finished" painted products on the figures section when done! :)

Greetings to all...

The vintage house pictured below is from Papa Ted's site...it was the June 2000 House of the Month...the original is a rather drab gray...mine will be more colorful...

The second picture is of the parts I've made that are waiting appropriate finishes and final assembly...I'll post a picture of the completed house in week or so...

In the update post that follows this post you'll find the PDFs of three patterns sheets...

update...7-16-2021...

making luffa trees...i posted these basic steps years ago...so it's time for a refresher...NOTE...i know there are probably other ways to make luffa trees...but these work for me...

luffa...trim to shape with pinking sheers...pinking sheers give random, natural edges to the luffa webs...

trunk...twigs from oak tree...sharpen one end...makes it easier to push into the luffa...

glue luffa and twig trunk together with two part epoxy cement...epoxy dries quickly...and i can start coloring in a few minutes...

color the luffa...WEAR DISPOSABLE GLOVES...IT'S KINDA MESSY...i use slightly diluted craft paint in a small can...and dunk the entire top in the paint and swirl around...let the excess drip off...then i shake off all the excess paint in a trash can...then let dry completely...

snow detail...dry brush white craft paint to the top...i sometimes add a little clear glitter with white glue after the snow dries...

red berry...craft store item...know as "stamens"...glue in with white glue...

trunks will be trimmed to length when the tree is installed in the base...

stay tuned...
