Halloween "Book" with Spooky House

This is what I worked on during most of August. It is almost done, but I need a title for the "Book". It's more of a diorama than a little cardboard house.

It started with a cardboard box somebody at work saved for me. I thought that the box looked like a book and perhaps I could make a little cardboard scene inside the box and make the outside look like an old book. It's not perfect. The paper in the inside seams opens up a little and the spine of the book is not really attached the way I would like because I had to make so it would open up wide.

I colored the plastic pieces for the windows with a red magic marker and they give off a nice spooky glow with a light inserted in the back of the book. I learned that from Howard.

I'd say it's a "Perfectly Spooky" background for all your other Halloween houses...hope you'll post some images when you get the entire display set up!...

Speaking of displaying Halloween houses...natural burlap makes a great ground cover...it's the right color and texture...a yard or so would be very inexpensive, too...

Yes, I will post a display of all the little halloween houses. The burlap is a great idea. I think I have some already.

I have them stacked on a chest of drawers now. They look pretty good even though I don't really have them all arranged and all the bases aren't made yet. I have made some headway in that department though.

Thank you for your encouragement.

That book is a really cool alternative to little houses. And it sets the perfect spooky tone. Great work!
