Well True to his word Pete made up some special coconut for this house. The fence and roof gave him the most trouble but it looks pretty nice. The orange is dead on too. I got this some time ago and it is happily added to my collection as it is one I was seeking for some time. It was in pretty fair condition but needing some TLC. Fortunately Pete came up with some great coconut for this project. I had to replace the figure and tree but his coconut almost made it easy! Nice piece will have some more years of life now.
Tip; I used a product called Mod Podge Matte mixed with an off white acrylic craft paint and "drooled" it on the tree and sprinkled "Diamond Dust" glitter over the paint. This technique pretty much duplicates the look of the original that used gesso and paint. (Mod Podge is available in Hobby Lobby or any craft store.)
The child was molded from a mold I pulled from an antique original. I duplicated the original by heavily dousing the white paint of the coat with lots of "Diamond Dust, a glass craft supply.
