Hello! Hope everybody is doing well.. Haven't been on too much.

I was trolling ebay and came across this little oddity. I don't think the builder of the this house quite had his/her mind made up on how they wanted to the roof to be. :) But don't think Ive ever seen one like it.

Its marked 1936 on the bottom.

Love it!! "Sausage House" for sure!! :) That would be a fun project for someone who builds a lot... I know I have some left overs from failed steps or balconies that might have been to big or small that would be fun to piece together. I never throw away any pieces. Hopefully we'll get to see some more Sausage houses in the future!!!!

When I found this post, I was intrigued by the shape/design of this poor little abandoned house. As Brian said: "That would be a fun project for someone who builds a lot... Hopefully we'll get to see some more Sausage houses in the future!!!!" So, with that said-- I decided to build it! Here is my version of what it "might have been" when the "Sausage House" was new... Enjoy all!...

P.S.: I'm thinking the original might have had a luffah tree, shall I add one in? Opinions please! Thanks...

Cheers,

It IS an interesting little house. I assume it is quite small. I don't think it had a luffa sponge tree though. The tiny ones usually do not have such things. Good job Will and very pretty.
My Great Grandfather was called Will and I remember the ditty - "My mother calls me Willy, My brother calls me Bill My sister calls me Billy and my father calls me Will" That isn't exactly right but you get the picture. Tom

Thanks everyone for your input and comments so far. Yes Master builder Howard-- I now dub this abode as the "Summer Sausage House". LOL..
Just a lil' teaser, I am making a flattie as you have suggested! Yes Lynn, I really wanted to catch the "essence" of the original as to give it that OEM look & feel! Yes Tom, it is quite small. Around 2 1/2 in. tall and about 3 in. long, but it does have a charm to it. Thanks for the little ditty-- I got a good laugh out of it!
 :P

The "flattie" sausage house shop keeper!...

Here's the flattie that Howard suggested. He's my very 1st "human" subject, with his "cleaver" and all (that cleaver was the smallest piece I've EVER cut out! ). This little fella is the official "Sausage House Shop Keeper". Of course, nowhere near the detail as Howard's pieces, but-- it's a start! Still need to add a luffah tree as per Howard's request as well (please don't be offended Tom! hehe), but-- know this: I made this lil' guy with a 2 yr. old HYPERACTIVE toddler right by me the whole time! LOL... I'm lucky just to get this done.
Enjoy...

P.S.-- Here's a little story behind the house & the sausage man:

Imagine if you will-- A quaint, quiet, village nestled in the Bavarian Alps on a brisk Autumn afternoon. As you walk up the cobblestone road, you spot "Wilhelm's Sausage Haus". The deep savory aroma of the steaming frankfurters tickles your nose and you see jolly ol' smiling Wilhelm waving his cleaver inviting you in for a bite. All of a sudden-- you're hungry! Lets go inside, shall we?...
