So I tried my hand at casting a figure from an old house.
I won the house a few weeks ago.

Here's my casting of one with a new paint job.

Is your paint that shiny or do you spray it with a clear coat? Looks really cool!

Steve...

You've got the science of casting down to an art form...

What did you use to make the mold?...

Did you use a mold release agent?...

What did you use to cast the piece?...

So I started working on this one a year or so ago.

I first read this online article:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Simpl ... with_Resin

I used the following molding putty:

http://amazingmoldputty.com/

I used the following casting material:

http://www.tapplastics.com/product/mold ... _epoxy/386

notes on what I learned.

The choices a purely on that I found all at my local Micheals.

Once I get the mold making part down, I plan to try using water putty to cast. As It will make
each figure cost pennies.

Oh, I never said but the figure on the left was the original and the right the cast one.
Not sure if it was obvious.

Steve, it wasn't obvious and that's a good thing. I assumed the brighter paint job was the newer one though. :-)
